There is nothing more bewildering for an American than to visit a former communist country like Albania. Everything gets upside down, you get totally confused of the difference but definitely it is worth the experience. If you plan to visit Albania take some time and read this article so you are not stunned once you get there!!!

“Tirana is a city of extreme contrasts. A donkey-drawn cart pulls up along side of a top-line Mercedes. A Muslim cleric sings the morning prayers as a spandex-clad woman enjoys her morning run. A cow looks up from grazing to notice a major traffic jam”. Looks like a scene from an Indian movie, while it is a European country we are talking about.
Tired of the most popular travel destinations? Then don’t go in there! Unless you are an US or former USSR citizen, you can go to Albania. Yeah, sounds pretty exotic, but be prepared for no hot water in the morning and toilets that don’t flush. If you can skip these small details it can be pretty interesting!
