This is a great way to get to know this country and its population: traveling by bus, illegal taxi and bicycle, staying at private homes (casas) and enjoying Cuba's wonderful music.

The author calls Cuba a land o ironies: the communist revolution that was meant to bring equality to the masses has produced in the end a new nobility, the dollar tourists. It’s a sad situation, considering that a girl will offer herself for a price of the equivalent of a cup of coffee per night. At least that’s how things were five years ago.
