As far as i know Danish is a difficult language to learn ... i wonder if many people speak English there |

Well it is really hard to learn Danish, but we don't speak English to eachother here. We learn English from 2. grade, so we speak it pretty well. So if you are thinking of visiting Denmark, don't be afrait, that we can not communicate with you... Linda (denmark) |

Danish is a difficult language, and i know as im from Denmark. most people in denmark can speak english |

It is a very hard language indeed. Its a very "brutal" language, its very hard in the accent.
Its not such a "poetic" language - like italian e.g
Its very hard to learn, but i'd say that 85% and more can talk okay english. Also, we dont translate the voice in the movies, we only have subtitles. We have many amarican shows and talkshows ect.
The answer your question: Most talk english.
Also Old english is smiliar to Danish, thats why danish kinda has some words from england.
Æ Ø Å those are words we use in denmark, they were taken from the old english alphabet |

what about the prices? are the higher than elsewhere in Europe?'cause i was told it's pretty expansive to travel to Denmark? |

I don't think it's more expensive than elsehwere. But I haven't travelled that much. It's cheaper than other scandinavian countries though. I liked the article, it was very charming and contained a lot of praise. But Copenhagen is under any circumstances worth a visit. |

last year i had the chance to visit Copenhagen. it for a 2 day visit so i really didn't get to see much of the city , but i remember that transport wasn't such "perfect" as it is written in the article. Did i get the wrong impression? |

I lived in Denmark for a year as an exchange student and found that the transport was pretty perfect compared to new zealand so i have abolutely no complaints there. where i lived we have no public transport so to be able to travel around denmark, not just copenhagen in particular, using the public transport that they had was wonderful. |

I live in the center of CPH and I really don't think it´s a problem getting around. But it is not cheap. |

Read the article, haha...I think he's exaggerating a bit about the Danes being so *** about architechture.
But as I read it he's only been to Copenhagen and a little up the coast North of Copenhagen - and Denmark is so much more. You can read a lot on the Danish Touris Infomation site

I think it's very informative and gives a more realistic description of what Denmark is.
By the way - I actually live at Christianshavn which is not the freetown he talks about. It's a small man made island between Copenhagen City and the island Amager. And it's not prohibited to take photos at Christianshavn....it is, however, most places at the "freetown" Christiania which is on Christianshavn :-D Anyway, if you ever go to Copenhagen I recommend you go see Christiania, it's really something. |
