Serengeti National Park Tanzania wildebeest migration
Submitted by Anonymous on 2009-08-29 23:43:02 (via www.kili-tanzanitesafaris.com)
Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as zebra and Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa.

We've all heard about whale watching from boats or shore, and a few companies are now offering the possibility of actually swimming and snorkeling with whales in the wild. Is this a good thing?

Driving the Denali Highway
Submitted by cleo on 2007-05-18 07:44:45 (via www.icdc.com)
On the Denali Highway I had found the "real" Alaska: a place where nature is in full control. Mankind is but a footnote. Only the presence of the dusty, pebble-strewn highway stretching into the distance gives any hint that men had ever set foot on this remote landscape…Fresh air, blue skies, mountains in every direction and not a soul around.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Submitted by bindero on 2007-04-13 01:36:26 (via www.vagabonding.com)
"Whatever you do," our guide Steven cautioned, "do not run if a gorilla charges you." "What happens if he catches you?" I asked. "Just don't run," Steven replied”. Well, quite a promising dialog before going in a gorilla trekking. Gorilla watching is indeed a challenge, although this it is rather related to a bit of adrenaline.

John Forrest National Park
Submitted by Adele on 2007-03-09 08:16:03 (via travelsight.tripod.com)
A well kept secret. The best time to visit this wonderful spot is in Spring, when the wildflowers put on their luscious display. And that is quite a site, absolutely splendid. For anyone mad about wild flowers this is the place to go.
