“The course of travel changes when you´re by yourself. Gone are many of the antics and in place a greater sense of curiosity for your surroundings”. Maybe this is why the end of his trip was at a children shelter in the suburbs of Ayacucho, playing with children and helping preparing food for them. Very touchy.   More...

Peru - a Fascinating Country
Submitted by Amber on 2007-03-09 08:06:16 (via www.trekdiary.com)
This article is a must. Where else will you get to visit a museum using your pocket torch light? The reason? Just a power cut. A place with outside-of-time spots, where civilization stops and you get hypnotized. A place where you can meet the local corpses. A place with so many unique features, that it would take me too much space to list them all.

Paracas and Islas Ballestas
Submitted by christine on 2007-01-25 02:54:11 (via volker.umpfenbach.de)
After reading this article I associate Paracas and Islas Ballestas with the history of Guano production - the famous ferilizer, and some jobs related to this product, such as Guano Extraction Manager; the enigmatic El Candelabro, and the spectacular desert shore fauna. Perhaps, this place may pretend to be one of the most mysterious in the world.
