Parting the Red (and white) Sea... Running with the Bulls in Pamplona
Submitted by withoutarope on 2007-07-09 04:43:20 (via www.withoutarope.com)
We all slept through our alarms and finally woke just in time to race down the stairs and straight onto the first bus of the morning with Nathan shirtless and still pulling his shoes on to his feet. We were heading to the square in front of the town hall. We were going to join in the Encierro, the Running of the Bulls.

you are right - the Spaniards do know how to party and all their fiestas prove that. This is why I like that country so much - it's the passionate character of these people. I've heard about San Fermines several times, but never thought that tourists can also take part...
if you don't mind explaining it, the idea is to get to the arena before the bulls?

yep... get to the arena before the bulls... they close the gates soon after the bulls arrive.. so run your heart out! and try not to get trampled by any of those big hunks of beef running behind
