| Travelling the Silk Road: Uzbekistan |
| Submitted by christine on 2007-06-20 00:58:46 (via backpacking.gapyear.com) |
| “The greatest thing about Uzbekistan is not its amazing Silk Road cities or historical monuments but its people, probably the friendliest I've met in all my travels.” Locals always succeed in making tourists appreciate not only the charming cities of the Silk Road, but also fall in love with their exceptional hospitality.

Of course many former USSR cities are very beautiful, green, nice parks, lots of trees and roses...
Why is this called Silk Road? Does anyone know? |
