A Wonderful Safari in Zambia
Submitted by kunjani on 2009-02-09 21:54:28 (via www.placesonline.com)
A hidden gem, discovered on the banks of the mighty Zambezi in the pristine wilderness of the Lower Zambezi Valley in Zambia. Completely remote yet only 30 minutes by light aircraft from Lusaka.

No, not afraid at all! Zambia may be remote but it's pretty civilised. I know the country quite well as I lived there in the late sixties, and have visited a few times since, especially in the last 15 years that I've been in the tourist business. The Lower Zambezi area is very special to me as it's so isolated and beautiful. You are miles from anywhere, in total peace and quiet (and safety!) yet you are pampered like a movie star. Wonderful people, wonderful food, wonderful accommodation etc etc. It is hard to believe that such a luxurious place can exist in such wild surroundings. Most times of the year you get elephant in the camp (YES - TRUE!). This visit we were a bit late in the year and the ellies had moved on inland. If you are thinking of visiting Zambia please contact me - I do have pretty extensive knowledge of the country. Just bear in mind that we tend to focus on the luxury places, so you will be spoilt rotten but it won't be cheap!

Cheers

Jacquie
